About me and how I work.

My story.
I’ve always been fascinated by people.
As a child, I was endlessly curious about why people think, feel and behave the way they do. That curiosity eventually became my career – and my life’s work.
I trained in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy at Goldsmiths and the Institute of Psychiatry in London, before working at The Priory, within the NHS and, for the past several years, in private practice.
Along the way, I’ve continued to deepen my practice through training in Compassion Focused Therapy, EMDR, breathwork and other trauma-informed approaches, always asking one question: how can I help people heal more effectively?
Then, around ten years ago, everything became personal.
A life-threatening illness forced me to stop and truly understand the impact of prolonged stress – not just intellectually, but physically. My body had reached a point where it could no longer keep going. It changed the way I viewed health, trauma and the connection between mind and body forever.
That experience brought home to me, in the most physical way, that what we live through does not just stay in our mind. The body carries its own story, through tension, exhaustion, alarm, pain and the ways it learns to protect us. This is when I truly and deeply understood somatic experience.
That experience led to some of the biggest decisions of my life: rebuilding after divorce, becoming a single parent and learning, often the hard way, what it really means to listen to your body rather than constantly push through.
It also transformed the way I work.
Because I believe healing isn’t about becoming someone else.
It’s about creating a life that feels safe enough to be yourself.
You are not broken. Your experiences have shaped the way you think, feel, relate and respond. I believe in our capacity to heal, to grow, and to change the patterns that no longer serve us.
Outside the practice.
I adore outdoors, exercise, animals. Lifestyle, physical fitness and health, for me, are a primary driver. Not for how it looks, but for what it does for mental health.
The body and the mind aren’t separate. Looking after one is looking after the other, and that conviction sits underneath everything I bring into the therapy room.
This is about a way of life, a philosophy, CBT as a way of life, being your own therapist.
How I work.
My work is grounded in evidence-based therapies, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), EMDR, Compassion Focused Therapy, mindfulness, breathwork and imagery. Over the years, I’ve also integrated coaching and somatic approaches to create a truly personalised way of working.
The clinical training is the foundation. But I don’t just treat symptoms – I work with the whole person.
Trauma doesn’t only affect our thoughts. It lives in the nervous system, shaping how we feel, relate to others and experience the world. That’s why our work may include the mind, body, breath and gentle movement, helping your nervous system find safety again.
I don’t believe you’re broken. I believe you have the capacity to heal.
My role is to help you understand yourself more deeply, reconnect with your strengths and create lasting change – so you can live the life you want, not the one your past has chosen for you.
